Based on the manga by Mitsuteru Okamoto, Tobidase! Bacchiri is a 1966 anime produced by Nippon TV Video, an animation studio that would later make the 1973 Doraemon anime. The show was dubbed in Italian as Il Piccolo Detective, which played the song Johnny Bassotto by Lino Toffolo for its theme song.
The main cast of characters consisted of Bacchiri, the titular young detective boy who solves crimes in various ways, Chibisu, an officer dressed in blue who tends to shrink in size, Gappori, a man dressed in green who's the president of his own detective agency, Benko, a green bird, and Roba, a donkey.
